Introducing the 5th Edition of The Biblical Times

Stories of Faith Through the Eyes of 6th Graders!

Our 6th-grade students in MS Bible have just completed their first rotation of the year, spending nine weeks diving into the character of God as revealed through the stories of the Old Testament. Through their study, they explored how God’s goodness and power touch the lives of everyday people in remarkable ways. The result? The 5th edition of The Biblical Times—a newspaper filled with editorials, advice columns, advertisements, and even movie reviews that bring these timeless encounters to life.

Enjoy this creative journey through faith as seen and written by our students!

SHOCKING: THE ISRAELITES DO EVIL IN
THE LORD’S SIGHT, SOON REGRET IT

WRITTEN BY ADDISON S., ELLIE F., ARI A., & GRANT G.

Gods’ peace is different than what we think. God peace is to make whole.

Here in Israel, a man named Gideon is seeing an angel, and he doesn’t think it’s real. He’s getting mad at the angel for what Israel is going through. Suddenly, Gideon realizes he’s basically just trash talked God! He is terrified, He doesn’t think he is worthy to be in God’s presence. Israel is suffering because in God’s sight, the Israelites are doing evil, so they are losing battles. God will not help because they are ignoring him, but they are asking God for help. When God helps them, they betray him, and are doing evil in his sight, once again. This cycle keeps repeating, and the Israelites won’t change their ways. We spoke to Gideon after this experience. He just said If we accept God’s peace we will be whole with Jehovah Shalom.

Abram and Sarai are important people in our community, and it is well known they are having trouble having a child.

Amet They make a final decision that Abram would have a child with Hagar, but it isn’t as easy as it seems. Sarai is getting furious, and Abram allows Sarai to treat Hagar so harshly. Which leaves Hagar with no other choice but to run away into the wilderness. She recently found herself scared and alone, but there’s more. Apparently, El Roi (The God Who Sees) saw Hagar and instantly met with her to say she is going to have a son with Abram named Ishmuel. This is what
Hagar had to say about this, “It was the most memorable time of my life. God is so powerful, and he can see anything. I will never forget this time when God saw me.”

A Presence of Purity

WRITTEN BY LEAH H., JOCI A., GEORGE K., COLT M., & MASON B.

Can Elohim Kedoshim’s Holiness be dangerous? Elohim Kedoshim means the holy God, but can he be too holy?

Recently, Issaih had a dream where he went into the most holy place. Issaih told us he was scared to be in God’s presence and said, “Woe is me”. The angels in the temple took a hot coal and touched it to his lips. He said, the coal’s pureness took over his impurity cleansing him in God’s pureness. Issaih said the angels said holy holy holy three times, showing us how holy he is. The coal represents Jesus because he is so pure. Jesus could easily reject us, but he doesn’t because he loves us so much. He said that the angels told him that we worship Elohim Kedoshim and to let the earth tremble before him. You must be holy because God is holy. God is totally pure. There is no wrong thing within him. No sin. No evil. Everything he does is pure and righteous. So, the answer to is he dangerous depends on YOU.

God Leaves Clues of His Fingerprints!

WRITTEN BY BROCK D., LEREINE C., WILLIAM G., MARSHALL C., & OLIVIA M.

How did God create the earth? Elohim, the Strong creator created the world with his voice. When Elohim created the earth, he left fingerprints we know as the Fibonacci sequence. Elohim left patterns throughout the world; we just need to know where to look.

Elohim is everlasting, he was always and always will be here. It is hard to trust someone you don’t know, but you can always find truth in the Bible.

Ask the Prophet: We All Do Things Through Christ; He is Our Banner!

WRITTEN BY BROCK D., WILLIAM G., MARSHALL C., LEREINE C., & OLIVIA M.

Q: Dear Moses,

I know you have lots of experience in trusting God. I am in the middle of a challenging battle. How can I be sure that I can make
it through.

Sincerely,

Worried and Wondering

A: You can always know that you will make it through because the lord is with you. That is how I felt in the battle against the Amalekites. It was hard, but I knew that the lord was with me. The Israelites and the Amalekites were in a battle, but the Israelites wouldn’t have won if the lord hadn’t helped the Israelites. I trusted him even though it was hard, the lord was with me through me the whole time.

Close Encounters (continued)

Jehovah El Emeth

After, we spoke to Adam and Eve, and they said that they regret what they did, and that we should trust God.

Jehova Rohi

Jehovah Rophe

When a plague of snakes came to Israel’s current camp-out spot, God, instead of eliminating the snakes, created a bronze snake for Moses. When the Israelites looked at this bronze snake, their wounds would be healed, earning God the name Jehovah Rophe, meaning “the Lord our Healer.”

Jehovah Shalom

We spoke to Gideon after this experience. He just
said, “We need to trust and love God, and he will be with us.”

Jehovah Nissi

The Isrealites and the Amalikites were in a battle,
but the Isrealites wouldn’t have won if the Lord hadn’t helped Moses and the ISrealites.

God’s Divine Name

WRITTEN BY AMELIA D., ISA U., SIENNA F., & KENNEDY N.

For years, Jewish people have prayed to God in many ways. Such as praising him, thanking him and many more.

In Deuteronomy 6:4-5 the word “LORD” was all in capitals letters. It was all in capital letters because that is the personal name of Israel’s God. The meaning of “LORD” is in the story when Moses saw the burning bush. In the book of Exodus chapter 3 God tells Moses to free the Israelites from slavery. God tells Moses to say, “tell them EHYEH has sent me to you. But that will kind of weird if Moses says, “I will be” so God tells Moses to say “Yahweh, the god our ancestors, he has sent me to you.” After God told Moses that quote “Yahweh” is the ancient Hebrew verb “He will be”, and that is the personal name of Israels God. When they were read the Hebrew Bible, and they came across Yahweh they stopped saying that and said the Hebrew word for “Lord” which is “Adonai. Now spelling the name we use “LORD” in all capital letters. The scribes wanted to prevent anyone to say this aloud when reading the Hebrew Bible, so they made a physical device to remember “Adonai.” Later, Christian scribes didn’t know Yahweh was an artificial word, so they said it aloud and spelled it in their writings. The main thing of the word “LORD” In all capital letters is an indication of Yahweh. That is the Hebrew word “Adon” which means “Lord” or “Master”. But behind all these words Jehovah, Lord, Adonay they all refer to the God of Israel.

God Leaves Clues of His Fingerprints!

WRITTEN BY BROCK D., LEREINE C.,
WILLIAM G., MARSHALL C., & OLIVIA M.

Jehovah El Emeth means the LORD God our truth. Adam and eve are in the garden God told them to stay in. They are happy and have all they could need. They name all the animals and eat fruit from whatever tree they want. But there was one tree God told them not to eat from. But a snake has by and convinced Eve that if she ate fruit from the forbidden tree, she would be wise and know all. The snake is trying to tell her that if she eats from the tree, she can be as powerful as God, and that God doesn’t want her to eat it because he wants to be the only all-powerful one. Eve believes in the evil snake, so she just ate the forbidden fruit! She even shares it with Adam. When God finds out, he goes down to the garden. Adam and Eve hide, because they are scared. God finds them and is angry at the snake. He gets rid of his legs, and then he has to crawl on his stomach. God banishes them from the garden and creates death in the world. If we do not trust in the LORD, we will not got to heaven.

Ask the Prophet: The Lord is Our Shepard

WRITTEN BY LEAH H., MASON B., GEORGE K., & COLT M.

Q: Dear, King David, how do I know if Jehovah Rohi cares about me?

A: Jehovah Rohi is the Shepard to us sheep. In Psalms 100:3 it says, “We are his sheep the people of his pasture”. This represents that he leads us and cares for us like a shepherd does for his sheep. In Psalm 23 he describes God as his Shepard. That means whenever we are scared like sheep, he is there to guide us to safety. We are similar to sheep because we wander off on our own behalf and can’t get back without help don’t be scared though because God is there to guide us back like a Shepard does with his sheep. Keep this in mind whenever you feel like God has left you and doesn’t care anymore remember this.
