Middle School

Sixth Grade

This is not junior high as you remember it. Our Middle School is fascinating, fast-paced, and fun! Sixth grade represents a turning point as days become busier and subject matter more sophisticated. Whether the subject is Language Arts, World Civilizations, or Earth Science, the theme of storytelling permeates the sixth-grade year.

Your child will discover that stories are told everywhere—around the globe and in every academic discipline. He also will learn that with his own unique perspective, he has ideas and stories worth sharing. An advisory class of ten students will have important discussions about character, friendship, and making choices that help us be who God wants us to be. Through our buddy program, your child will shine as a role model to a Kindergartener. Together, they will study, laugh, work, and pray. Sixth graders also enjoy the freedom of individualized schedules. Some begin formal Spanish; others take a second English class. They can choose from an array of activities during the school day and compete enthusiastically for ROBS after class. Raider Chorus engages budding musicians, and Math Club offers friendly competition to students with a passion for math and science. Middle School is an ideal time for your child to try on many hats. Both of you may be surprised at what new interests and talents emerge!

“When I came to ROBS in sixth grade, I immediately felt like I belonged.”
