Global Citizens
We often think of social studies as the study of communities, cultures, and history, but did you know it also includes economics? Your child will learn the basics of economics in Kindergarten, beginning with the difference between wants and needs and various kinds of workers in our community. He will explore historical figures such as George Washington and historical events such as the first Thanksgiving.
She will consider different ways in which governments can be organized, like the State of Texas and the United States of America. As Christmas and Easter approach, we focus on the reason for the season: Jesus’ birth and resurrection. Your child also will explore cultures, customs, and geography during a look into Christmas around the world. On December 5, he may even leave his shoe by your fireplace with a carrot inside to feed Sinterklaas’s horse, just like they do in the Netherlands.
