Spiritual Learners
We say at ROBS that faith is the air we breathe. The foundation of our spiritual and character curriculum consists of Chapel, Bible class, daily devotionals, and prayer. Weekly Chapel combines joy and reverence. Through a study of major people, places, and events in the Old and New Testaments, your child will gain a perspective on how God wants us to live.
But there’s so much more. Classroom morning meetings, literature selections, fine arts performances—all are opportunities to reinforce spiritual and character lessons. Fourth graders will learn their choices have consequences, both positive and negative. Ephesians 4:29 will remind them that words can build people up or tear them down. (“When you talk, don’t say anything bad. But say the good things that people need—whatever will help them grow stronger.”) Your child will reflect on his conduct during recess and make a plan to increase inclusivity and sportsmanship. She will pray for courage, humility, and resilience before Student Council elections. Like a sponge in water, children absorb the messages to which they are exposed. Every day at ROBS, your child is learning to be the example.
