Spiritual Learners
If you’re a parent with a faith of your own, it’s probably important to you to instill character-building, faith-growing practices in your child’s habits. Being responsible for developing someone else’s faith may feel like an immense weight. At every step, your child’s teachers and coaches stand ready to support you in this work. We know teaching children to seek a relationship with God takes action, consistency, and patience.
We hope you’ll let us be your partner in your child’s faith formation. During the second-grade year, your child will be surrounded by Christian habits: prayer, Bible study, worship, and service to others. In Bible class, she will learn about some of the major figures of the Old Testament like Gideon, Samuel, Saul, Samson, Ruth, David, and Solomon. As we usher in a new calendar year, your child will discover spiritual resolutions from the book Squirrel’s New Year’s Resolution and make some of her own. In the New Testament, she will study some of Jesus’ parables like the parable of the Sower and the Seed. He will learn about the Gospels, the Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes, and the Sermon on the Mount. We celebrate Jesus’s birth at Christmas and his sacrifice and resurrection during Holy Week. At ROBS, it’s part of our mission to help your second grader grow closer to God. We plant seeds of faith every day.
